St. Regis Real Wedding

bumatayrw.jpg

Wedding Consultant Stephanie Lairson shared this amazing real wedding with us along with the inspiration for the day. Photography by Bumatay Studio.

The inspiration for the entire wedding came from the invitation motif designed by Maura and Bryan’s friend.  They are very urban people and used to be “club kids” – Maura was even a DJ at one point!  I think the motif succeeded in capturing their style and spirits – very bold and chic.

The ceremony took place on a lawn adjacent to the reception space.  It was quite literally a blank canvas.  We wanted to keep the ceremony very clean and crisp, thus the white structure with orchid detailing.  The St. Regis is quite close to the ocean, but we wanted to keep the focus on the ceremony, so I had mentioned having the ceremony seating in the round.  Well, the more I got to know Maura, the more I realized that round was just too normal, so we set up the seating in the “square”.

After the ceremony, guests moved to the other side of the lawn while enjoying the view and wonderful tray passed hors d’oeuvres.

One great aspect of Club 19 at the St. Regis is the way the space is laid out.  All seating is outdoors with guests moving inside for dancing and cake.  We used pieces of the motif as etchings on the containers for the centerpieces on the upper terrace.  We also framed the terrace with three beautiful black chandeliers.  The lower terrace was one very large banquet table seating 35 of Maura and Bryan’s nearest and dearest friends.

After dinner guests moved inside.  Maura changed into a sexy little number for their salsa inspired first dance.  The room had changing LED lights that added to the party atmosphere.  We also had a white dance floor and white leather furniture.  The cake design was taken directly from invitation motif.  And it was all wrapped up with a great candy buffet.

While checking out Michael Norwood a fabulous Southern California photographer, we came across an old High School friend of Jocey’s. She was so excited for Kari and her new hubby to be, Steve that she had to post their beautiful photos taken in Solvang, an incredible town in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley. Congratulations Kari! Hopefully she will send us some day of shots so we can post her wedding.
